A CNN reporter cries as she reports on the deaths of Ukrainian children

Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine is affecting everyone in many ways.
First and foremost the toll of life taken by the victims of war. The sensitive burden is spreading beyond the borders of Ukraine, as shown in CNN’s “News Day” segment on Thursday. Reporter Brianna Kyler began to cry while reporting live from Lviv with children affected by the war.

“The Ukrainian government says about 200 children have been killed so far in this war,” Kyler said. TheWrap. “This is an official calculation although it is probably a gross underestimation that does not include casualties in places where active fighting is going on, where officials are still working to ensure deaths.”
Kyler maintained her composure for the most part but could not hold back the tears as Sophia, 6, and her younger brother Bhanushkar reported the deaths. Kyler was particularly disturbed by how the children’s uncle heard of their deaths on the speakerphone.

“She was wearing unicorn pajamas and an ambulance took her to the hospital where she died,” Kyler said. “[Russia’s governments] Don’t believe that the pictures of these kids are real … they think they are made by Ukrainians. But they are real. “
