Ashanti honored with star in Hollywood Walk of Fame

Ashanti is being recognized for her musical legacy,

The singer is joining the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a famous star. The event will be streamed live on YouTube on Thursday at 2:30 pm ET / 11:30 am PT. The show will be hosted by Ja Rule and Tichina Arnold.

The 41-year-old’s career began with her 2002 self-titled album Unrest Which was a smash hit with the release. It hit the # 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, setting a soundscan record for the most albums sold by any first female artist. This achievement put him on the Guinness World Record.

With the release of “Fulish” and other hits, she was able to become the first female artist to make the top three chart entries in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

He won a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album Unrest Including 2 American Music Awards and Soul Train Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award.
