Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married in Mumbai

Popular Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married in a private ceremony at their Mumbai home on Thursday.

The couple, dressed in ivory, came out and waved to the photographers from their apartment building. Kapoor picked up Bhatt and carried him back to the apartment.

The wedding was attended by close relatives, Bollywood star and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and his wife.

The 39-year-old Kapoor belongs to the popular Kapoor dynasty of Bollywood which has dominated the Hindi film industry since 1940. Her parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, were prominent Bollywood stars in the 1970s and 1980s.

He is the grandson of veteran actor-director Raj Kapoor, who was rated as the best showman in Bollywood. Raj Kapoor’s father Prithviraj Kapoor was an actor who ran a theater company and acted in Hindi classics in the 1940s.

Bhatt, 29, is also a member of a Bollywood family. Her father Mahesh Bhatt is a well known filmmaker and her mother Soni Rajdan is a former actress. Bhatt made his debut in Karan Johar’s teenage drama “Student of the Year” in 2012. She won an award in 2014 for her role as a kidnapper in the road drama “Highway”.

Ranbir Kapoor started his film career in 2005 by supporting producer-director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the film “Black”. She made her acting debut in Bansali’s 2007 film “Saawariya”.
