Speaking at an event hosted by WGCI Radio outside of Chicago, Jeff said, “Don’t get me wrong, it was something he was proud of. That was a mistake, you know? “
The artist defended Smith on the slap, explaining that the actor is a human being just like anyone else.
“I think the thing I realize is that I don’t know a lot of people who have been deviated from the least. I can name 50 times that he should have been shot by someone and he didn’t, ”he said.

“So for the error of his judgment, he’s human,” Jeff added. “And I think a lot of the criticism comes from people who don’t think people like that.”
Since the slap, Smith has revoked his academy membership, after the academy banned him from attending the Oscars for 10 years.
