Josh Peck reveals how much money he made from “Drake & Josh” and how far it took him.

Peck, 35, saw his career begin as half of Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh” when he was still a teenager. The show spans four seasons and forever binds Peck to a generation of kids.

The “Turner and Hooch” and “How I Met Your Father” actors recently appeared on Deer Media’s Trading Secrets podcast and broke down how well his earnings from “Drake and Josh” took care of him.

“I can only talk about my experience,” Peck told the podcast Just Jared. “But I think it’s pretty public that if you were on a show like ‘Two and a Half Men’ or ‘Modern Family’, and you were a kid on a huge network, a syndicated show … it could be sued. You have enough money to hold on to for the rest of your life.

“But, the reality is that when we were making the show, we did 60 episodes and we made about $ 15,000 an episode. So, when all was said and done, we were left with agents and managers and after taxes.”

Peck declined to comment on how much money he had made, but acknowledged that the dollar could only expand so far.

“You’ve been living on about $ 450,000 for five years, which is a little less than $ 100,000 a year – now, of course, a lot of money, but not enough to set you up for life. And a lot of that, we survived, And I won’t brag: my mom and I had a used BMW Five Series. We lived in a two-bedroom apartment with amenities … we lived a very middle-class life. “

Peck mentions how a child actor has a budget and an expiration date.

“There’s no residue on the kids’ television, ”he said. “It was like we had an 18-month runway, you know … like someone lost their job.”
