If you are interested in writing and producing songs, there is no one better to teach you than Maria Kerry who has started a new masterclass.
“For the first time, I’m letting the camera in to witness my creative process,” she said of her series, “Maria Carey: Teaching the Voice as an Instrument.”
“Now in masterclass, I’m inviting you to The Butterfly Lounge, my musical sanctuary where I write new songs, re-imagine classics and collaborate with artists from different genres,” Kerry added.

Kerry also shared a classroom promotion clip in which he recalled making his own song as a “teenage girl” in a room full of men.
“There’s energy in it and nobody really wanted to make me feel strong,” Kerry said.

Kerry discusses how the tone of his voice or words can have an effect on what he uses.
“As a singer and as a lyricist I chose to be very, very specific about certain things,” he continued. “Keeping things simple when trying to express a certain emotion that I was hoping other people might relate to.”
The five-time Grammy winner concludes, “Music has saved my life in many, many ways. If I can do the same for other people, that’s all. “
