Arcade Fire will replace the Fu Fighters as headliners in Oshega this summer.

The music festival says the Montreal-based band is a perfect addition to their 15th anniversary lineup, targeting “Hometown Heroes” set in a memorable Oshiga set in 2010.

After the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, the Fu Fighters canceled all of their concert dates last month, including the July 29 show in Oshega.

Hawkins died during a tour of South America with a rock band. He was 50 years old.

The Arcade Fire will now be the title of the first day of the Outdoor Festival, which runs through July 31 at Park Jean-Drapo in Montreal.

Other headliners include rapper A7 AP Rocky on the second night and singer Dua Lipa on the last night.

“When the Fu Fighters unfortunately had to cancel, it was crucial for us to book a band that meant something special for our local music fans, as well as an artist who would appeal to a huge fan base internationally,” said Osega founder Nick Farkas. This has been said in a release on Thursday.

“Our thoughts are with our friends in the extended Fu Fighters family at this extremely difficult time.”
