The ‘Orphan Black’ sequel series has received the green light on the AMC network

The race for “Orphan Black” may be over, but the critically acclaimed fan-favorite series will create a new story set in the same world.

According to The Hollywood ReporterAMC Networks has greenlit a sequel series titled “Orphan Black: Echoes”, which will be released sometime in 2023.

OG “Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslani will not be involved in the new series, which will introduce a new character.

“Set in the near future, the new ‘Orphan Black’ dives deeper into the scientific exploration of human existence,” the AMC Network announcement notes. “It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on an exciting journey, unraveling the mystery of their identities and unraveling a tragic story of love and betrayal.”

The new series comes from Toronto’s Boat Rocker Media, whose Temple Street production was behind the original “Orphan Black,” starring Anna Fishco (“Pieces of Her”), while “Orphan Black” co-producer John Fawcett is returning as executive producer and director. .

“We started our journey in the ‘Orphan Black’ rabbit hole when Sarah Manning saw Beth Childs jumping silently in front of an oncoming train.
