High “high school musical” without Vanessa Hazens ?! It almost happened. Hazens opened up about how he almost auditioned American Idol Before auditioning for the role of Gabriella in the early classics of Tuesday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

“I grew up doing theater, and it was always a passion of mine, and you were on American Idol, and you won, and I was, ‘That’s it, I’m going to American Idol, and then that next. During the week, I got an audition for ‘High School Musical’ and booked it, then I was, ‘Well, don’t mind,’ “he told Clarkson. “I was, ‘I’m doing it’ and you were the catalyst.”

Although it’s been 16 years since Hagens first took over East High School halls, Hagens says he still remembers all his auditions for the big role.

“I remember all the auditions, of course, because there were a lot of them,” he recalls. “There were three like, but I remember them individually.”

“I remember meeting Jack [Efron] First time, meeting Lucas [Grabeel] For the first time, ”Hudgens added. “Ashley and I. [Tisdale] Already seen because we did an ad together a month ago. But it’s wild. Time just flies. “

With many reboots and work revivals, ET spoke to Hagens in November about the possibility of bringing OG “high school musical” casts back together, but Hagens said that was not possible.

“It simply came to our notice then. It’s scary to mess with something like that, because it’s so popular. “

Reflecting on the movie’s 15th anniversary in September, he told ET that it was hard to believe it had been so long since the movie premiered in 2006.

“It’s so strange to me that it’s a long time ago, because I think when I go to work, and when I – especially when I can do a musical, I feel the same excitement and joy and emotion for it as I did then, Hudgens share. “I feel like my job – it makes me a big kid. I can be a big kid because I’m pretending. “

“In all this childish wonder, it never dies, and I am still very humble and grateful for all my opportunities and all my adventures,” he added.
